Brooklyn Eagle, 6 June, 1885, page 6 - Mr. Larrabee explains: He proposes to repay the money he embezzled. William E. Larrabee of Oyster Bay, who was said to have embezzled a sum of money from James H. Ludlam, a merchant in the same village, told an Eagle reporter this afternoon that Mr. Ludlam had charged him with appropriating the sum of about $200 which Mr. Larrabee admitted, and promised to refund in money by installments. He says that at the time he left Oyster Bay he told Mr. Ludlam of it and left his future address with the merchant, so that he could be found if needed. He has not made any payment in settlement of the claim yet, but is to do so Saturday next. Mr. Larrabee is at present residing in Douglass street, this city.

Brooklyn Eagle, 12 August 1902, page 10 - Obituary - Long Island - Mrs. Sarah Larrabee       Oyster Bay, L.I., August 12 - The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Larrabee, mother of Miss Annie Larrabee, the postmistress of this place, occurred yesterday afternoon, the Rev. Alexander G. Russell of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Mrs. Larrabee was born in East Norwich in 1832. She was the daughter of John L. Van Wicklen of that place. She married Edmund W. Larrabee, now deceased. She leaves two children, Miss Annie Larrabee and William Larrabee, both of Oyster Bay, and three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Marthing of East Norwich, Mrs. Emma Bennett of Jamaica, and Mrs. William Chapman of Morris Park. The Interment was in a private cemetery in this village.
